11-04-2008 Nobody Gave "The Tuba Man" Squat When He Was Alive
Final Tuba Man Update - November 13, 2008 Oh the sanctimony. King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg never did jack squat for The Tuba Man while he was alive, but was more than happy to praise him in death, in front of 1,500 potential voters. That's according to Casey McNerthney of the Seattle P-I. Like the P-I's Jamieson, McNerthney uses right wing racist terminology favored by Fox TV personality John Walsh in his piece, describing The Tuba Man's attackers as "street thugs." How many of those 1,500 mourners ever did jack squat for the Tuba Man, other than chuck him some chump change? And how holier than thou am I? Well, I adopted a street musician in 1996 and he's been my friend ever since. I even made Three Finger Jack the star of my Seattle Trilogy of underground movies back in the old days. I've had dinner with Jack, drove him around alot of places, bought him alot of beer. Nobody ever did that for the Tuba Man. I'd like to respectfully drop this story now and bid farewell to The Tuba Man. I'll leave you with this morally righteous piece by Robert L. Jamieson Jr. in today's P-I, in which he uses the word "thug," of course. A final goodbye to Tuba Man -- with a touch of Dr. Seuss - Update - November 13, 2008 Update - November 12, 2008 Today the P-I says "Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke and Mariners president Chuck Armstrong, along with longtime radio personalities Robin Erickson and John Maynard, will be among several speakers at Qwest Field Event Center." Wow. What did Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke ever do for the Tuba Man while he was alive? Who is really being glorified today at this massive gathering for a man most people know only from walking past him on their way to a corporate sports game? Will there be one person present today who ever had him over for dinner, or did anything for him other than chuck him some chump change? Was he ever allowed inside Qwest or Safeco? Celebration to honor Tuba Man planned for today at Qwest Field --- Three Finger Jack on Tuba Man: "Sad." Wild World News was the first to notify longtime Jerry Garcia look-alike busker and three fingered guitarist Three Finger Jack of the Tuba Man murder. "God that's sad. I've had punks come after me and they know not to f*ck with me. I'll kick their m*therf*ckin asses," Jack told WWW. "He wasn't all there - you know what I mean. Slow. It's sad. I hope they get those motherf*ckers." Three Finger Jack can be out front of every home Seahawk and Mariner game playing his guitar for change. He also plays the Pike Place Market when he feels like it. Today (November 4) is Jack's 72nd birthday.
