Landlords Push Out Up-Scale
Belltown Yoga Studio
According to Sarah Sorenson, Belltown Yoga has lost its lease. This has happened to dozens of small businesses
over the years as the neighborhood has
gentrified. Sarah ran the business with her sister Nissa. They spent big bucks rennovating the space and now
they are looking for a new location.
TWO DAGOS BAILS
Latest Owners Lasted 8 Months
John and Julie Fawcett have closed down Two Dagos from Texas. They left no forwarding address and owed at least
one local vendor money for past due bills. The latest incarnation of this First Avenue nightspot was no improvement
over the old Dagos. The Fawcetts replaced the horrific Italian/Mexican fusion menu (Pesto Chimichanga, etc) with
straight-up expensive BBQ bar food. And my Italian-American friends weren't too happy that they didn't bother to
come up with a better name. Would you call a restaurant "Two Krauts from Florida," or "Two Polacks from Arizona?"
Note to eventual new owners: invest in new branding.
CAROL MCLELLAN
Loses Lease, Relocates To Spot Above The Belltown
Carol McClellan has moved from her storefront on First and Battery to an upstairs office down the street.
A new restaurant/bar is set to open up in the space in January, which is being created by Richard Hemsley,
one of the owners of Capital Hill's Barca, and his partner Charlie Bucy.
OH SHIT!

DOG GONE
Messenger Editor Tells Art Director to Stop Running Cute Doggie Pix
You heard it, we're cutting down on cute dog photos starting in December. Luckily for dog lovers, our cover this
time around features Phoebe the mini-dachsund, hanging out at Shorty s Coney Island. Thanks Nissa and Joe-Joe!
